The print is the point
Anyone can sell the image — it’s public domain. What you’re buying here is the object: how faithfully, and how durably, the masterwork lands on your wall.

The story
A hazy morning over the harbour at Le Havre: mist, masts and cranes barely sketched in grey-blue, and floating over the cold water a single small sun, orange as an ember, laying a broken trail of light across the ripples. Monet showed it in 1874 and, asked for a title, said to just call it an impression. A hostile critic seized on the word to mock the whole show — and the insult became the name of the movement that changed painting forever. Stand back and the harbour resolves; step close and it is nothing but frank, quick strokes. The picture where modern art begins.
